Let’s talk about what inspires you ..

I remember way back, when I used to log onto a PC at home, hear the modem screech and eventually get onto aol.com. I discovered this new website called amazon that recommended books based on your preferences I was hooked.

The books arrived from America, book after book arrived all business related biographies and 7 steps to something. In fact I think my copy of 7 habits of effective people arrived all the way from the states thanks to Jeff Bezo

Not long after my amazon book obsession I got stuck into the early bloggers. Some were authors of the books I had read and some were just hobbyists wanting to share their story. It amazed me how easy it was to publish your thoughts and I’m sure many authors tested out aspects of their scripts as blog posts first.

It was around that time that I discovered Seth.blog a marketeer, a blogger, a self starter who put things succinctly and made me think …. through Seth I discovered the concept of tribes and realised all of us have a tribe of people, your tribe may be scattered across the globe or may be congregated in a small community but your tribe does exist and somewhere on the web someone is blogging about what interests you and inspires you.

From Seth.blog i found a tribe in its early stages .. experimenting with this thing called business model canvas … looking for like minded people to prototype and develop the canvas concept .. that was back in 2005 and I followed its progress. And, yes, I was on the preorder list for the first version of the book. That book has gone on to be world famous and institutionalised in the business design profession.

So I ultimately I thank Seth and his blog it inspired me. If you have never read it take a look – he looks at the world in a very optimistic way and many of his blogs are about taking ownership of your life and being the change you want to see.. I never went on to become that entrepreneur that many of seths posts tried to encourage me to be but i have gone on to try and see the world as Seth would see it – be positive, it is the only way
