When I started the blog 8 months ago I wasn’t sure where I was heading with it – I didn’t have an end in mind, a target state or any real idea of a deep meaningful, why?

In the last 8 months I’ve discovered ..

1. The What Ever Next blog is my journal of “thoughts of the day” it’s helped me

  • Clarify my thoughts and feelings
  • Get to know more about what floats my boat
  • Structured my thoughts more effectively

2. Promoting articles from What Ever Next on LinkedIn has lead to

* Discovering differing perspectives through the on line comments

* Establishing new online connections

* Agreement to virtual coffee chats to further explore the “posted” ideas.

3. The articles on Enterprise Architecture have attracted the most interest . They point to

* personal reflections of the role and the challenges

* professional groups leading the way on Architecture thinking Intersection Group

* models and mindsets that can help enterprise architects consider the bigger picture

4. The current world of COVID (which has provided me with the time abs space to blog) also features heavily with my thoughts on the New normal. They cover off ..

* the ongoing debates on working from home vs the offive

* the technology trends that need to be better adopted for the WFA model to truly be effective

* and a bit of nostalgic reflections on the old normal

5. And finally looking back on the blog it’s really unlocked an aspiration to Reflect on the world around me embed more Human centred thinking , Experienced based thinking into the work that I do

* we may be a more technical society but humans matter most and designing for the human mind not just the “data processor” has never been as important as it is now

* experiences are what we all remember – how someone or something made us feel – realising that everything we do in the world of enterprise architecture impacts the experience outcomes focusing more on experiences in business design is key

So I will continue writing my journal – attracting attention, making connections and discussing the posts with who ever is interested ..

it’s more than just a journal now and I thank COVID for finding me the time to get on and discover a new world of blogging.
