Dear CIO
Please remember that, for me to do my best work for the company we both work for, I just want tech that works.
When it doesn’t work I just want to get it fixed.
I don’t enjoy being locked out of my laptop, being caught up in a never ending password reset loop, logging tickets, waiting for call backs, being passed around your back office technically silo’d experts, being pointed to self serve articles that are written by technical experts or asked to head into an office to get things fixed.
Please look to your own retail and domestic dealings with other aspects of your life. Learn from those businesses and IT teams that are using tech to help solve your personal needs, fixing your domestic problems and serving your businesses markets. Notice how much more human and less technical the solutions are. Embrace the tech and service experiences and standards of the retail channels and continue to lead your teams in improving the design and operations of your IT services.
Please encourage your teams to be more human.
